R  OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. 
R  PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. 
R  DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. 
R  DO NOT SMOKE. 
R  DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. 
R  THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. 
R  GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED. 
R  (1) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are 
R  clean and in the correct condition. 
R  (2) Apply a layer of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-001) to the shims (12). 
R  (3) Put the applicable set of shims (12) and the bearing pads (11) in the 
R  positions that they were removed from (do one side at a time). 
R  (4) Install the bolts (9) and the nuts (13). 
R  (5) Install the studs (8), the washers (14) and the nuts (15). 
R  (6) TORQUE the nuts (15) to between 2.6 and 3.0 m.daN (19.17 and 22.12 
R  lbf.ft). 
R  (7) Install the new cotter pins (16). 
R  **ON A/C ALL

 B. Preparation for Installation
 (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a
 MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS
 (Material No. 11-026).
 (2) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

 

 (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

 C. Installation of the Flap Track Beam
 WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
 WARNING : SUPPORT THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY OR IT WILL FALL AND BECOME DAMAGED OR
_______ INJURE PERSONNEL. THE UNIT/ASSEMBLY IS HEAVY.
 NOTE : The weight of the flap track beam (1) is 36 kg (79.3663 lb).

 (1) Lift and hold the flap track beam (1).
 NOTE : Steps 2,3 and 4 must be completed carefully and as one
____ continous procedure. Unsatisfactory work will result in damage to the spigot chrome protection and/or the top flange of the beam.
 (2)
 Lift the rear end of the flap track beam (1). Engage the failsafe spigot (10) through the bush in the bottom skin plate.

 (3)
 At the rear mounting:

 (a)
 Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to the aft spigot pin (17), but not to the thread.

 (b)
 Install the spherical washer (4).

 (c)
 Fill the space between the spherical washer (4) and the aft spigot pin (17), as shown, with SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002).

 (d)
 Install the nut (3) on the aft spigot pin (17).

 

 (4)
 At the forward mounting:


 (a)
 Apply a thin layer of SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to the forward spigot pin (25).

 (b)
 Use the EXTRACTOR FLAP SPIGOT (98D57004037000) to install the forward spigot pin (25):

 -through the spherical bearing (20)
 -into the flap track beam (1).

 (c)
 Apply a thin layer of SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002) to the bolt (21).

 (d)
 Push the forward spigot pin (25) through the spherical bearing

 (20) and into the flap track beam (1).

 (e)
 Align the hole in the forward spigot pin (25) and install the bolt (21), the washer (30) and the nut (29).

 (f)
 TORQUE the nut (29) to between 0.35 and 0.4 m.daN (30.97 and

 35.39 lbf.in).

 (g)
 Install the new cotter pin (28).

 

 (5)
 At the rear mounting:

 (a)
 TORQUE the nut (3) to between 9.0 and 9.7 m.daN (66.37 and 71.53 lbf.ft).

 (b)
 If the flap track beam has a new aft spigot pin (17) installed:

 -drill a 3.25 mm (0.1279 in.) hole in the aft spigot pin (17) for the cotter pin (2).

 (c)
 Install the new cotter pin (2).

 

 (6)
 At the forward mounting:

 (a)
 Apply a thin layer of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-018) to the failsafe pin (27) and the anti-chafe collar (22).

 (b)
 Install the failsafe pin (27), the anti-chafe collar (22), the pin (19), the collar (23) and the new cotter pin (24).
