 (2) Preparation for painting
 (a) If the finish paint or primer layers are damaged, do a repair (Ref. TASK 51-75-12-300-001).
 (b) If necessary, carefully smooth the surface to be painted with a fine-grade MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-011) and CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004). Make sure that the primer layer does not show.
 (c) Remove the abrasive grit and use a new MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) to clean the surface. Clean off the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) before it becomes dry. Make sure you do not touch the surface with your hand.

 B. Painting 
R R  (1) Apply the PAINTS FOR DETAIL (INTERNAL AND EXTERN AL) (Material No. 07-003) with a brush to the prepared area on the slat rear skin and lower trailing edge. 
R R  (2) Apply three layers of PAINTS FOR DETAIL (INTERNAL AND EXTERN AL) (Material No. 07-003), each layer must be 0.05 mm (0.002 in.) thick. (Ref. Fig. 701/TASK 57-43-11-991-001)

 Remove the safety barriers.

 (3)
 Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

 Put the safety barriers in position.

 Make sure that the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) is installed on the slat/flap control lever.

 (1) Removal of the spherical bearing (5) at the position B
 (a)
 Disengage the tab washer (4) from the nut (3).

 (b)
 Remove and discard the nut (3) and the tab washer (4).

 (c)
