B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS ARE
_______ CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1)
Make sure that the applicable No.2 flap track fairings have been removed (Ref. TASK 57-55-11-000-001).
(2)
Make sure that the carriage has been removed from the applicable No.2 flap track beam (Ref. TASK 27-54-46-000-001).
(3)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER (98D27803000000) is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(4)
Make sure that the access platform is in position below the applicable No.2 flap track beam (1), zone 581 (681).

A. Preparation of a Replacement Component
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(2)
Apply a layer of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-001) to the shims (12).
(3)
Put in position all the shims (12) and the bearing pads (11) that you removed.
(4)
Install the bolts (9) and the nuts (13).
(5)
Install the studs (8) (with the washer (18) on the outboard stud), the washers (14) and the nuts (15).
(6)
TORQUE the nuts (15) to between 2.26 and 2.4 m.daN (16.66 and 17.69 lbf.ft).
(7)
Install the new cotter pins (16).
