B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Fully extend the slats (Ref. TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
(2)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER (98D27803000000) is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Put the access platform below the applicable wing leading edge at slat 2, zone 512 (612).

A. Cleaning and Preparation of Slat 2 Surfaces
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.

(1) Cleaning
WARNING : CLEANING SOLVENTS ARE FLAMMABLE, VOLATILE, TOXIC. THEY
_______ SHOULD BE USED WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. AVOID PROLONGED BREATHING OF VAPORS AND REPEATED OR PROLONGED CONTACT WITH THE SKIN, OR CLOTHING.
(a) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) to clean the grease from the slat surface.
-Apply the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) to the cloth, not the cloth to the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004). This will prevent the transfer of contamination.

- Carefully clean a small area at a time and remove the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) before it becomes dry. Use a new MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) frequently to make sure that the dirt is not put back on the surface. - If necessary, use a brush to clean out the holes and edges.
(b) Clean the slat surface again, where there is contamination remaining.
(c) When the area is clean, flush with clean water.
(d) Use a new dry MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) to carefully dry the area.
