A. Safety Precautions
(1) Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(2) Put the safety barriers in position. Subtask 57-43-00-860-050
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Fully extend the slats (Ref. TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
(2)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Put the adjustable access platform below the applicable wing leading edge at slat 2, zone 522(622).

A. Preparation for Inspection
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1) Use a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) to clean the top and the bottom surfaces of the slat 2 trailing edge.

B. Detailed Visual Inspection of Slat 2 Trailing Edge, Lower Face, LH/RH
(1) Do a detailed visual inspection of the slat 2 trailing edge, lower face for:
-damage
-cracks
-corrosion
-surface protection.
NOTE : If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 574000) for the

correct repair procedure.

Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Remove the access platform(s).

C. Removal of Equipment
(1)
Remove the warning notice(s).
(2)
Remove the safety barriers.
