(1) Make sure these circuit breakers are open with the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags attached:
(a)
P18 Load Control Center
1) A8, COMPUTER-1 AC
2) A9, COMPUTER-1 26V AC
3) C5, TEMP PROBE
(b)
P6 Load Control Center
1) B6, COMPUTER-2 26V AC
2) B7, COMPUTER-2 AC

(2)
Clean and prepare the surface of the airplane around the installation hole.
S 424-010
(3)
Install the total air temperature probe:
(a)
Install the new gasket.
(b)
Remove the dust caps from the electrical connections.
(c)
Connect the electrical connector to the TAT probe.
(d)
Put the electrical connector into the airplane.
(e)
Align the TAT probe with the installation hole.
(f)
Install the screws that hold the TAT probe to the airplane.
(g)
Make sure the TAT probe aligns smoothly with the airplane skin.

(b) P6 Load Control Center 1) B6, COMPUTER-2 26V AC 2) B7, COMPUTER-2 AC
(5) S 224-015Measure the resistance between the TAT probe body and the airplane skin. (a) Make sure the resistance is less than 0.010 ohms.
(6) S 704-016Do a test of the heater circuit of the TAT probe (Ref 30-31-00/501).
(7) S 394-020Seal around the TAT probe and the airplane skin with the sealant.

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first task is a resistance test of the Total Air Temperature (TAT) probe. The second task is a heater test of the TAT probe.

Examine the air inlet scoop and exhaust ports for unwanted material.

Clean the TAT probe if there is unwanted material
(AMM 34-12-31/701).
