Expanded CTR MAP (Fig. 4)
 (1)
When the mode switch is in the CTR MAP position, the EHSI will display in the expanded CTR MAP mode. This mode is similar to the MAP mode, except the EHSI will display a 70 degree compass arc with the airplane symbol in the center. This allows for display of navigation waypoints and stations behind the airplane.

 (2)
The weather radar data can also be displayed in expanded CTR MAP mode. However, the display of weather radar will be shown in the upper half portion of the compass rose.

 (3)
The map mode display switches on the EFIS control panel can be used to select various navigation data for display on the EHSI.

 (4)
The position of the range switch will determine the range of the data displayed on the EHSI.

 (5)
The following additional data are also displayed in the CTR MAP mode:

 (a)
Airplane heading from the IRS

 (b)
Distance to go and ETA to the next waypoint

 radar systemPLAN (Fig. 4)
 (1)
When the mode switch is in the PLAN position, the EHSI will display in PLAN mode. The PLAN mode is used prior to flight to view the FMCS flight plan. In this mode, the EHSI display is oriented north up, and the weather radar data cannot be displayed.

 (2)
In the PLAN mode, the position of the range switch determines the range of the flight plan data displayed on the EHSI.

 (3)
The following additional data are also displayed in the PLAN mode:

 (a)
Heading from the IRS

 (b)
Selected heading from the DFCS MCP

 (c)
Drift angle, Distance and ETA to the next waypoint from the FMCFULL NAV (Fig. 4)

 (1)
When the mode switch is in the FULL NAV position, the EHSI will display a 360 degree compass rose, with the airplane symbol in the center. In this mode, the weather radar data cannot be displayed on the EHSI.

 (2)
In the FULL NAV mode, the position of the range switch, and the map mode display switches will have no affect on the operation of the system.

 (3)
The following additional data are also displayed in the FULL NAV mode:

 (a)
Airplane heading from the IRS

 (b)
Track, drift angle, desired track, cross track deviation, Distance to go and ETA to the next waypoint, vertical deviation, FMC/IRU position difference, wind direction and speed from the FMC
