(15) Push and hold the PUSH TO TEST switch.

Make sure the TEST VALID WHEN LIT light comes on.
(b)
AIRPLANES WITH AIR DATA VSI'S; Make sure the VSI indicator slews to -600 ft/min.

Set the TEST SELECT switch to the FAIL WARN position.

Push and hold the PUSH TO TEST switch.

Make sure the TEST VALID WHEN LIT light comes on.
(b)
Make sure warning flags for the Air Data indicators are in view.

3. Air Data System - System Test_____________________________
A. General
(1) The system test does a check of the operation and precision of the air data system (ADS). The air data system includes the Air Data Computer (ADC), the air data instruments, and the standby pneumatic altimeter/airspeed indicator.
B. Equipment

Stopwatch
(2)
Decade resistance box
(3)
Air data test set, Druck ADTS405F, Druck Ltd. (Vendor Code 0R667), Leicester, England (or equivalent)
(4)
Pitot-static probe adapter kit, P/N AD-953-7, Nav-Aids Ltd., Montreal, Canada (or equivalent)
(5)
Static port test adapter assembly, P/N F72823-40 or equivalent
(6)
Flow restrictors, control valves, cutoff valves, and pressure tape as necessary

(1) Examine each pitot-static probe before and after this test for damage to the circular leading edge of its barrel.
(2) S 215-047Examine each pitot-static probe before and after this test for blockage in the drain or static ports.

CAUTION: OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS BEFORE YOU APPLY PRESSURE TO THE PITOT
_______ STATIC SYSTEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS, DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT AND INSTRUMENTS CAN OCCUR.
(3) Obey these precautions before you apply pressure to the pitot-static system.
(a)
Turn on the electrical power for the Air Data System before you make the static or total pressure hook-ups.
(b)
Keep power on until all pressure hook-ups are opened.
(c)
Pressure changes must be flow controled to prevent sudden changes in pressure and possible damage to air data hardware.
(d)
Keep the static pressure in the range of 3.43 to 31.02 inches Hg.
(e)
Do not permit the static pressure to be more than 28 inches Hg from the ambient pressure.
(f)
Keep the total pressure in the range of 3.0 to 41.0 inches Hg.
(g)
Make pressure changes to make sure the rate of change of altitude is less than 5,000 feet per minute.
(h)
Make pressure changes to make sure the rate of change of airspeed is less than 300 knots per minute.

(i)
Keep the static line pressure less than the pitot line pressure.
(j)
Make sure the difference between the static and pitot line pressures is not larger than 10 inches Hg.
