_______ THE TEST HOSES. YOU CAN BEND OR TWIST THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE OUT OF TOLERANCE.
(5) Connect the pneumatic test set to the pitot-static probe adapter:
(a)
Connect the pitot (pressure) source in the pneumatic test set through the pitot control valve to the pitot cutoff valve.
(b)
Connect the inlet of the probe adapter to the pitot cutoff valve through the pitot system test gage and flow restrictor.
(c)
Open the pitot cutoff valve.
D. The Captain's Pitot System Leak Test

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PITOT LINE PRESSURE IS EQUIVALENT OR MORE
_______ THAN THE STATIC LINE PRESSURE. KEEP THE PITOT PRESSURE CHANGE BELOW 300 KNOTS FOR EACH MINUTE. MAKE SURE THAT THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE STAYS BETWEEN 0 AND 10.00 INCHES OF MERCURY. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PITOT-STATIC SYSTEM.
(1) Apply pressure to the pitot-static system equal to 300 |5 knots of airspeed (4.53 |0.16 in. Hg differential).

CAUTION: HOLD THE VACUUM, AS AN ALTERNATIVE, BEHIND THE CUTOFF VALVES
_______ DURING THE CUTOFF TIME. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT WHEN YOU OPEN THE CUTOFF VALVES WITHOUT THE VACUUM.
(2)
Close the pitot cutoff valve to the system when the necessary airspeed is reached.
(3)
Stop for 5 to 6 minutes to permit the system to become stable.
(4)
Write the airspeed.
(5)
Stop for one minute and read the airspeed again.

_______ ALWAYS EQUAL OR EXCEED STATIC LINE PRESSURE. KEEP RATE OF PITOT PRESSURE CHANGE LESS THAN 300 KNOTS FOR EACH MINUTE. KEEP THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE BETWEEN 0 AND 10.00 INCHES OF MERCURY.
(7) Open the pitot cutoff valve and send the captain's pitot system to ambient pressure.
NOTE: You must release the vacuum from the cutoff valves slowly.

Disconnect the pneumatic test set from the pitot-static probe adapter.
