If the plane was not made level, adjust the incorrect inclinometer until the slip ball is within .03 inches of the indication on the correct inclinometer.

Tighten the zero-adjustment screws.

Apply the sealant, BMS 5-95, over the zero-adjustment screw heads (Ref 51-31-00/201).

 ELECTRONIC FLIGHT INSTRUMENT SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  The Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) supplies display data for most of the airplane's navigational systems. The major display data supplied by the EFIS are:
 -pitch and roll
 -navigational maps
 -weather
 -radio altitude and decision height
 -autopilot and flight path information.
 (1)  The EFIS also supplies data of:
 -airspeed
 -ADF/VOR bearings
 -ILS data
 -stall warning information.
 B.  The FMS BITE (Built-In Test Equipment) function is used to do tests on the EFIS. The BITE function is also used to trouble shoot the EFIS (Ref 22-07-10).
 C.  The test procedures permit a complete test of the Electronic Flight Instrument System. A summary of the tests is as follows:

EFIS Brightness Control Test

EFIS Display Modes Test

 (d)  
EFIS Control Panel Switches Test

 D.  FMCS Control Display Unit (CDU) (Fig. 501)
 (1)  
The FMCS CDU permits you to do a test of the EFIS, through the FMC. On airplanes with two CDUs, either CDU may be used for the test.

 (2)  
Twelve line select keys (LSKs) are on the CDU panel, six to the left and six to the right of the display screen. The location of the LSKs aligns them with the third, fifth, seventh, ninth, eleventh, and thirteenth data lines of the display.

 (3)  
The CDU data lines, which permit the operator to do specified tests or options, are identified with the caret (<) adjacent to the line select key. Two words are frequently used for page/sequence control of the BITE: CONTINUE> and <INDEX. CONTINUE> is used to move the CDU display to the next page of the BITE procedure. <INDEX is used to move the display back to the last index page used.
