 2.  Air Data System - Operational Test__________________________________
 A.  General
 (1)  The ADS operational test is a BIT (built-in-test) test. The test operates from the controls on the front panel of the ADC. During the test, stable outputs are sent to the air data instruments and are monitored. The test makes sure of the conditions that follow:
 (a)  
The ADC electronics operate correctly.

 (b)  
The interface and warning system between the computer and instruments operate correctly.

 (c)  
The instruments operate when signals are sent to them.

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Close the ADS circuit breakers on the load control panels, P6 and P18.

Make sure the inertial reference systems are on and operate correctly (AMM 34-28-01/501).

Make sure the electronic flight instrument systems are on and operate correctly (AMM 34-22-00/501).

 (5) Close the TAT IND circuit breaker on the load control panel, P18.
 NOTE:____All the flags go out of view when you apply power. When the mach OFF flag goes out of view, a black cover goes over the readout for numbers lower than 0.400.

Open the NO. 1 AIR DATA COMPUTER-1 circuit breakers on the P18 panel.

Make sure the warning flags on these captain's instruments come into view in less than the time shown.

 (a)  
Altimeter -5 seconds

 (b)  
VSI indicator - 15 seconds

 (c)  
Mach/Airspeed Indicator - 10 seconds
 1) Mach
 2) Airspeed
 3) Vmo

 (3)  
AIRPLANES WITHOUT EIS; Make sure the TAT/SAT/TAS indicator goes out of view in less then 5 seconds.

AIRPLANES WITH EIS; Make sure the TAT indication on the EIS secondary display goes out of view.

Close the NO. 1 AIR DATA circuit breakers.
