(h) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:
1) On the circuit breaker panel, P18-2 a) C01110, EFIS SYMBOL GENERATOR - LEFT

(4) Do these steps to install the software:
NOTE: Refer to the supplier's instructions for more information

on how to use the PDL.
(a)
Set the power switch on the PDL to ON. The PDL will do a self-test.
(b)
Wait for the PDL self-test to stop.
(c)
Put the correct disk in the disk drive. The PDL will read the disk and show that it is ready. The data loading will start.
(d)
Follow the prompts on the PDL to complete the installation.
NOTE: When the data loading completes, the PDL will show
____ either completion or failure. If the PDL shows failure, remove the disk and put the disk back in the disk drive. If the load fails again, remove the disk, get a new disk and put it in the disk drive.
(e)
Remove the disk from the disk drive when the software
installation is complete.
(f)
Set the power switch on the PDL to OFF.
(g)
Disconnect the PDL cable from the Tray Adapter.
(h)
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
1) On the circuit breaker panel, P18-2 a) C01110, EFIS SYMBOL GENERATOR - LEFT
(i)
Remove the SG from the Tray Adapter.
(j)
Remove the Tray Adapter from the SG tray.
(k)
Install the SG in the SG tray. Make sure that the SG is properly seated in the tray.
(l)
Do a check of the software configuration. Do these steps:
1) Do the EFIS self-test (AMM 34-22-41/401). The software part number will appear on the left side of the applicable EHSI as a 10-digit number preceded by the letters OPS (OPS XXX-XXXX-XXX).
2) Make sure that the software part number on the EHSI is the same as the part number on the disk.
(m) Repeat the applicable steps to load the software in the EFIS SYMBOL GENERATOR - RIGHT with the following circuit breaker: 1) On the circuit breaker panel, P6-1
a) C01114, EFIS SYMBOL GENERATOR - RIGHT

(5) Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
(a) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
1) On the circuit breaker panel, P18-2 a) C01110, EFIS SYMBOL GENERATOR - LEFT

2) On the circuit breaker panel, P6-1 a) C01114, EFIS SYMBOL GENERATOR - RIGHT
(b) Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

1. General

A. Two EFIS symbol generators are installed on the E2-3 shelf in the main equipment center. Each symbol generator has electrical connections at the rear of the unit.
