 F. EFIS Brightness Control Test
 NOTE: During the EFIS brightness control tests, the display brightness
____ can adjust because of changes in the flight compartment light environment. For example, changes can occur from sunlight or movement of persons in the flight compartment.

 (1)  
On the two EFIS control panels, push the WXR ON switch to the on position.

Do a test of the EADI and EHSI BRT controls as follows:

 (a)  
On the two EFIS control panels, turn the EADI BRT controls counterclockwise, and then clockwise. 1) Make sure the display brightness on each EADI becomes

 dimmer and then brighter.

 (b)  
On the two EFIS control panels, adjust the EADI BRT controls to get the usual brightness level on the two EADIs.

 (c)  
On the two EFIS control panels, turn the outer EHSI BRT controls counterclockwise, and then clockwise. 1) Make sure the display brightness on each EHSI becomes

 dimmer and then brighter.

 (d)  
On the two EFIS control panels, adjust the outer EHSI BRT controls to get the usual brightness level on the two EHSIs.

 (e)  
On the two EFIS control panels, turn the inner EHSI BRT control counterclockwise, and then clockwise. 1) Make sure the brightness level of the weather radar test

 

 pattern (raster) on each EHSI becomes dimmer and then brighter.

 2)  Make sure the brightness level of the other symbols on the EHSI does not change.
 (f)  On the two EFIS control panels, adjust the inner EHSI BRT controls to get the usual raster brightness level on the two EHSIs.

 (3)  Do a test of the EFIS remote light sensors as follows:
 (a)  
Use black tape to put a cover on the left EFIS remote light sensor, located on the pilot's glareshield, P7. 1) On the left EADI and EHSI, make sure the display brightness

 level decreases.

 (b)  
Use black tape to put a cover on the right EFIS remote light sensor, located on on the pilot's glareshield, P7. 1) On the right EADI and EHSI, make sure the display

 brightness level decreases.

 (c)  
Remove the black tape from the left and right EFIS remote light sensors. 1) Make sure the display brightness on all the display units

 goes back to the correct level.
