Connect the inlet of the probe adapter to the pitot cutoff valve through the pitot system test gage and flow restrictor.

Open the pitot cutoff valve.


 D. The Auxiliary No. 1 Pitot System Leak Test

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PITOT LINE PRESSURE IS EQUIVALENT OR MORE
_______ THAN THE STATIC LINE PRESSURE. KEEP THE PITOT PRESSURE CHANGE BELOW 300 KNOTS FOR EACH MINUTE. MAKE SURE THAT THE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE STAYS BETWEEN 0 AND 10.00 INCHES OF MERCURY. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PITOT-STATIC SYSTEM.
 (1)  Apply pressure to the auxiliary No. 1 pitot system equal to 300 |5 knots of airspeed (ambient pressure plus 4.53 |0.16 in. Hg).

 S 865-109 CAUTION: HOLD THE PRESSURE, AS AN ALTERNATIVE, BEHIND THE CUTOFF VALVES
_______ DURING THE CUTOFF TIME. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT WHEN YOU OPEN THE CUTOFF VALVES WITHOUT THE VACUUM.
 (2)  
Close the pitot cutoff valve to the system when the necessary airspeed is reached.

Stop for 5 to 6 minutes to allow the system to stabilize.

Write the airspeed.

Stop for one minute and read the airspeed again.

Make sure that the airspeed does not decrease by more than 5.0 knots

 E.  Put the Airplane to Its Usual Condition
 S 485-117 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE HAS NO ADDED WEIGHT FROM
_______ THE TEST HOSES. YOU CAN BEND OR TWIST THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE OUT OF TOLERANCE.
 CAUTION: DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PNEUMATIC TEST SET WHEN THE PITOT-STATIC
_______ SYSTEM IS NOT AT AMBIENT PRESSURE. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  Disconnect the pneumatic test set from the pitot-static probe adapter.

 (2)  Remove the pitot-static probe adapter from the lower right pitot-static probe.
 (a)  Remove the probe adapter from the probe.
 NOTE: Dry off the pitot-static probe probes with a soft rag
____ when you use ethylene glycol.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMOVE ALL OF THE PIECES OF TAPE FROM
_______ THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE. THE SYSTEM WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY WHEN THE TAPE IS ON THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE.
 (b)  Remove the vinyl adhesive tape from the probe pitot chamber drain hole.

Examine the drain hole for unwanted materials and rough locations on the inner and outer surfaces (Ref 34-11-11/601).

Make sure that the pitot-static probe does not show damage to the pitot tip or the static ports (Ref 34-11-11/601).

Close the FLAP LOAD RELIEF circuit breaker on the load control panel P6.

Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).
