CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE HAS NO ADDED WEIGHT
_______ FROM THE TEST HOSES. YOU CAN BEND OR TWIST THE PITOT-STATIC PROBE OUT OF TOLERANCE.
(c)
Connect the inlet of the pitot-static probe adapters to the pitot cutoff valve through the pitot system test gage and flow restrictor.
(d)
Connect the S1 and S2 inlets to the static cutoff valves through the static system test gages and flow restrictors, from these locations: 1) The upper right pitot-static probe adapter. 2) The lower right pitot-static probe adapter.
(e)
Open the pitot and static cutoff valves.
S 865-014
(9) Connect the static line to the alternate static system:
WARNING: WHEN THE STATIC PORTS ARE COVERED, MAKE SURE THAT
_______ CONDITION IS VISIBLE FROM THE GROUND. FAILURE TO OBSERVE AND REMOVE COVERINGS OVER STATIC PORTS BEFORE FLIGHT MAY CAUSE LARGE ERRORS IN AIRSPEED SENSING AND ALTITUDE SENSING SIGNALS, WHICH MAY LEAD TO LOSS OF SAFE FLIGHT.
CAUTION: DO NOT EXTEND THE SEALS INTO THE PITOT DRAINS AND STATIC
_______ PORTS. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE IN THE AREA WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SEALS.
(a)
Seal the left and right alternate static pressure ports with vinyl adhesive tape.
(b)
Install a static line on drain No. 5.
(c)
Connect the static line to the static cutoff valve through the correct static system test gage and flow restrictor.
(d)
Open the static cutoff valve.

CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE THAT THE PITOT LINE PRESSURE IS EQUIVALENT OR MORE
THAN THE STATIC LINE PRESSURE. KEEP THE PITOT PRESSURE CHANGE
BELOW 300 KNOTS FOR EACH MINUTE AND THE STATIC PRESSURE CHANGES
LESS THAN 5000 FEET FOR EACH MINUTE. MAKE SURE THAT THE
DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE STAYS BETWEEN 0 AND 10.00 INCHES OF
MERCURY. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PITOT-STATIC SYSTEM.
(1) Apply pressure to the pitot-static system equal to 22,500 |200 feet of altitude (12.37 |0.10 in. Hg absolute) and 300 |5 knots of airspeed (4.53 |0.16 in. Hg differential).
NOTE: Monitor the differential pressure during this step to make
____ sure that you obey the the caution above.
S 865-017
CAUTION: HOLD THE VACUUM, AS AN ALTERNATIVE, BEHIND THE CUTOFF VALVES
_______ DURING THE CUTOFF TIME. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT WHEN YOU OPEN THE CUTOFF VALVES WITHOUT THE VACUUM.
(2)
Close the pitot and static system cutoff valves when the necessary altitude and airspeed are reached.
S 865-019
(3)
Stop for 5 to 6 minutes to permit the systems to become stable.
S 865-020
(4)
Write the altitude and the airspeed.
S 865-021
(5)
Stop for one minute.
S 865-022
(6)
Make sure that the altitude does not decrease by more than 400 feet.
