 (5)  Make sure that the static source selector valves are in the NORMAL position.
 D. Flush the Pitot Static System
 NOTE: Flush only one location at a time.
____ S 862-040
 (1)  Use these steps to flush the pitot and static lines:
 (a)  
Remove each cap from each hose or tube.

 (b)  
Flush the hose or tube with dry filtered air for 3 minutes.


 S 482-001
 (2)  Connect the air supply:
 (a)  
Remove the cap from the "T" located behind the instrument panel on the outboard side.

 (b)  
Connect the dry filtered air supply to the hose.


 S 172-004
 (3)  Flush the captain's pitot system at these locations:
 (a)  
The pitot hose that you disconnected from the combined standby altimeter/airspeed indicator.

 (b)  
The pitot hose that you disconnected from air data computer No. 1.

 (c)  
The pitot line that you disconnected from drain fitting No. 1 located on the left side of the E1 rack.


 S 082-006
 (4)  Disconnect the air supply:
 (a)  
Disconnect the dry filtered air supply.

 (b)  
Replace the cap from the "T" located behind the instrument panel on the outboard side.


 S 482-007
 (5)  Connect the air supply:
 (a)  Remove the cap from the hose that you disconnected from the top right pitot-static probe.

 (b)  Connect the dry filtered air supply.
 S 172-008
 (6)  Flush the first officer's pitot system at these locations: (a) The pitot hose that you disconnected from air data computer No. 2.
 (b)  The pitot line that you disconnected from drain fitting No. 10 located on the right side of the E1 rack.

 (7)  Disconnect the air supply: (a) Disconnect the dry filtered air supply from the pitot hose that you disconnected from the top right pitot-static probe. (b) Replace the cap on the hose.

 (8)  Connect the air supply: (a) Remove the cap from the pitot hose that you disconnected from the lower right pitot-static probe. (b) Connect the dry filtered air supply to the hose.

 (9)  Flush the auxiliary No. 1 pitot system at these locations: (a) The pitot hose that you disconnected from the flap load limiter airspeed switch No. 1 (S560). (b) The pitot line that you disconnected from drain fitting No. 3 located on the right side of the E1 rack.

 (10) Disconnect the air supply:
 (a)  
Remove the dry filtered supply from the hose that you disconnected from the lower right pitot-static probe.

 (b)  
Replace the cap on the hose.

 (11) Connect the air supply:
 (a)  
Remove the cap from the hose that you disconnected from the lower left pitot-static probe.

 (b)  
Connect the dry filtered air supply to the hose.


 S 172-014
 (12) Flush the auxiliary No. 2 pitot system at these locations:
 (a)  The pitot hose that you disconnected from the flap load limiter airspeed switch No. 2 (S562).

 (b)  The pitot line that you disconnected from drain fitting No. 7 located at the forward end of the nose wheel well.

 (13) Disconnect the air supply:
 (a)  
Remove the dry filtered air supply from the pitot hose that you disconnected from the lower left pitot-static probe.

 (b)  
Replace the cap on the hose.

 (14) Connect the air supply:
