A. Installation of the Battery Shunt
(1)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2)
Install the battery shunt (5).
(3)
Install the bolts (7), the washers (6) and the nuts (1).
(4)
TORQUE the nuts (1) to between 40 and 44.51 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.50 m.daN).
(5)
Install the ground cables (11), the washers (10), new lockwasher (9) and the bolts (8).
(6)
TORQUE the bolts (8) to between 53.10 and 79.65 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.90 m.daN).
(7)
Install the electrical wire (2), a new lockwasher (3) and the bolt (4).
(8)
Install the electrical wire (14), a new lockwasher (13) and the bolt (12).
(9)
TORQUE the bolts (4) and (12) to between 22.12 and 33.63 lbf.in (0.24 and 0.38 m.daN).
5. Close-up

B. Close Access
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Close the access panels of the AC/DC emergency power center 106VU and the battery power center 105VU.
(3)
Close the access doors 812 and 822.
(4)
Remove the warning notice(s).
(5) Remove the access platform(s). Subtask 24-38-54-862-050
C. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. TASK 24-42-00-862-001).

(1)
Put an access platform at the access door 822.
(2)
Open the access door 822.
(3)
Put an access platform at the access door 121AL.

B. Safety Precautions
(1)
Make sure that the external power connector is not connected to the aircraft receptacle.
(2)
Put warning notice(s) on the access door 121AL to tell the persons not to use the external power receptacle.
(3)
In the cockpit, on the overhead ELEC panel 35VU, release these pushbutton switches:
-BAT 1, BAT 2,
-APU GEN,
-GEN 1, GEN 2,
-EXT PWR.
(4)
In the cockpit, put warning notice(s) to tell persons not to operate the pushbutton switches on these overhead panels:
-21VU (EMER ELEC PWR),
-35VU (ELEC).
(5)
In the cockpit, on the APU section of the overhead panel 25VU, put warning notice(s) to tell persons not to start the APU.
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Contactor
(1)
Disconnect the connector (4).
(2)
Put blanking caps on the disconnected electrical connectors.
(3)
Loosen the two captive screws (2). NOTE : Do not remove the captive screws (2) and the spring washers
