(1) Drain the oil from the IDG (Ref. TASK 12-13-24-680-040).

B. Removal of the IDG Oil Filter
WARNING : WEAR GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE LOCKWIRE. CUT,_______ REMOVE AND DISCARD THE LOCKWIRE AS YOU DO THE TASK. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT OR BLIND YOU.
(1) Cut and remove the lockwire from the filter cover (1).
NOTE : you can put a container 1.5 USgal (5.68 l) below the filter____ cavity.

(2) Remove the filter cover (1).
(3) Remove and discard the packing (2) from the filter cover (1).
(4) Remove the filter element (3).
(5) Remove and discard the packing (4) from the filter element (3).
(6) Install a blanking cap on the filter cavity part.

R (2) Remove the filter cover (1).
R (3) Remove and discard the packing (2) from the filter cover (1).
R (4) Remove the filter element (3).
R (5) Remove and discard the packing (4) from the filter element (3).
R (6) Install a blanking cap on the filter cavity port.

(1) Do the inspection of the filter element(s) (Ref. TASK 24-21-00-210-044), and if necessary, replace it by a new filter element (3).

CAUTION : DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED OIL MUST BE
_______ REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH THE OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.
