R (a) Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to start the R engine.
R (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 R minutes before you do this procedure.
R (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
R (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) R pushbutton switch is off.
R (b) Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to energize R the FADEC 1(2).

R A. Removal of the Lockwire
R WARNING : WEAR GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE LOCKWIRE. CUT,_______
R REMOVE AND DISCARD THE LOCKWIRE AS YOU DO THE TASK. LOOSE
R LOCKWIRE CAN CUT OR BLIND YOU.
R (1) Cut and remove the lockwire (1) from the tension bolt (2).

R B. Lubrication of the QAD Adapter and the Tension Bolt
R (1) Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-027) with a spray to the QAD
R ring (3), the mating surface between the QAD adapter and the QAD
R ring,in the zone where you can get access.
R (2) Lubricate the tension bolt (2) with the OILS (Material No. 03-002).

R C. Torque Check of the QAD Adapter Tension-Bolt
R (Ref. Fig. 605/TASK 24-21-00-991-913)
R (1) Measure the torque value on the tension bolt (2)
R If the torque on the tension bolt (2) of the QAD adapter is less than
R 15 lbf.ft (2.03 m.daN), adjust the QAD ring (3). To do this, tap the
R edge of the QAD ring (3) that you can see with a brass drift to make
R sure that the torque value you measure is correct. TORQUE the tension
R bolt to between 22 and 26 lbf.ft (2.98 and 3.52 m.daN).
R (2) Shake the antidrive end of the IDG to do a check of the QAD adapter.
R If the IDG is loose, remove the IDG mounting flange (Ref. TASK 24-21-
R 51-000-040) and the QAD adapter (Ref. TASK 24-21-41-000-040).
R Tap the edge of the QAD ring (3) again and do the torque check again
R until the torque value does not decrease by more than 2 lbf.ft (0.27
R m.daN).
R (3) Do a check of the distance between the ring lug and the bracket of
R the QAD ring. If the distance is less than 0.312 in. (7.9 mm),
R replace the IDG (Ref. TASK 24-21-51-000-040) and the QAD adapter
