R  Q. Check of the Oil Leaks and the Electricals Characteristics 
R  (1) At the first engine start-up: 
R  (a) Make sure that the IDG operates correctly: 
R  On the ECAM control panel,push the ELEC key to get the ELEC page 
R  on the lower ECAM DU: 
R  - make sure that the voltage is 115 VAC 
R  - make sure that the frequency is 400 Hz plus or minus 5 HZ. 
R  NOTE : If the IDG was removed after an IDG disconnection, do a____ 
R  GCU reset at the first engine start-up at idle. To do 
R  this, on the ELEC control panel 35VU, push then release 
R  the related ELEC/GEN pushbutton switch (3XU). 
R  (2) If the IDG is not connected, make sure that the CMS message IDGx 
R  (Ex-4000XU) RECONFIG is shown on the EPGS GROUND REPORT page. 
R  (a) Make sure that the related GCU is energized. 
R  1 On the ELEC control panel 35VU, release (OFF) then push the_ 
R  related ELEC/GEN pushbutton switch (3XU) to do a reset of the 
R  GCU. 
R  2 On the SD, on the ELEC page, make sure that the line_ 
R  connection between the IDG1 (2) and the related AC busbar is 
R  shown green.

 

R  (b) If the related engine is stopped, on the ELEC control panel 35VU, 
R  release then push the related ELEC/GEN pushbutton switch (3XU). 
R  1 Start the engine._ 
R  2 On the SD, on the ELEC page, make sure that the line_ 
R  connection between the IDG1 (2) and the related busbar is 
R  shown green. 
R  (c) If the IDG1 (2) is not connected after the GCU reset, do a check 
R  for other CMS fault messages related to the IDG. 
R  (3) Make sure that there are no oil leaks. 
R  - Do a check of the oil level. (Ref. TASK 12-13-24-612-041) 
R  5. Close-up________

R  A. Close Access 
R  (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other 
R  items. 
R  (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. TASK 71-13-00-410-040): 
R  - FOR 1000EM1 
R  437AL, 438AR 
R  - FOR 1000EM2 
R  447AL, 448AR 
R  (3) Remove the warning notice(s).

 TASK 24-21-51-000-041 Removal of the IDG Oil Filter(s) WARNING : BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU WORK ON THE ENGINE COMPONENTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER
_______ THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS CAN STAY HOT FOR UP TO ONE HOUR.
 WARNING : WEAR GOGGLES, INSULATED GLOVES AND OTHER PROTECTIVE CLOTHES.

 HOT OIL CAN BURN YOUR EYES AND SKIN.
 IF OIL TOUCHES YOUR EYES OR SKIN, GET MEDICAL AID.

 CAUTION : DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED OIL MUST BE
_______ REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH THE OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.
