 D. Reset of the IDG 1(2) disconnect system
 CAUTION : MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS STOPPED BEFORE YOU PULL THE DISCONNECT
_______ RESET RING. IF NOT YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE JAW TEETH.
 (1) Slowly pull out the disconnect reset ring to the full limit of travel. Monitor the hand force that is necessary: this force must not to be too high. The disconnect mechanism must move freely without hard points.
 NOTE : The disconnect solenoid will make a click that you can feel in
____ the disconnect reset ring when the reset ring comes near the full travel limit.
 (2)
 Let the disconnect reset ring go slowly back to the initial position.

 (3)
 Again, slowly pull out the disconnect reset ring to the full limit of travel. Monitor the hand force that is necessary. This force will be much less than in (1). Also there will be no indication of the reset of the disconnect mechanism.

 (4)
 On the ELEC control panel 35VU, push the GEN 1(2) pushbutton switch (the FAULT legend comes on).

 (5)
 When you do the first engine start, make sure that the related electrical- generation system operates correctly.


 NOTE : If you start the engine after the test, you must do a GCU
____ reset. To do this, release then push the related GEN pushbutton switch.
 NOTE : If you do not get a correct reset of the IDG disconnect
____ mechanism after you obeyed the instructions given in step (1), you must remove and replace the IDG.

R  (1) Remove the screw (3) and desengage the loop clamp (2). 
R  (2) Slowly pull out the disconnect reset ring (1) to the full limit of

R  points. 
R  NOTE : The disconnect solenoid will make a click that you can feel in____

R  disconnect mechanism. 
R  (5) Install the loop clamp (2) on the disconnect reset ring (1) and 
R  secure the loop clamp with the screw (3). TORQUE the screw to between 
R  20 and 22 lbf.in (0.22 and 0.24 m.daN). 
R  (6) On the ELEC control panel 35VU, push the GEN 1(2) pushbutton switch 
R  (the FAULT legend comes on).
