R Q. Check of the Oil Leaks and the Electricals Characteristics
R (1) At the first engine start-up:
R (a) Make sure that the IDG operates correctly:
R On the ECAM control panel,push the ELEC key to get the ELEC page
R on the lower ECAM DU:
R - make sure that the voltage is 115 VAC
R - make sure that the frequency is 400 Hz plus or minus 5 HZ. If
R the frequency is out, adjust the IDG frequency (Ref. TASK 24-
R 21-00-730-040).
R NOTE : If the IDG was removed after an IDG disconnection, do a____
R GCU reset at the first engine start-up at idle. To do
R this, on the ELEC control panel 35VU, push then release
R the related ELEC/GEN pushbutton switch (3XU).
R (2) If the IDG is not connected, make sure that the CMS message IDGx
R (Ex-4000XU) RECONFIG is shown on the EPGS GROUND REPORT page.
R (a) Make sure that the related GCU is energized.
R 1_ On the ELEC control panel 35VU, release (OFF) then push the
R related ELEC/GEN pushbutton switch (3XU) to do a reset of the
R GCU.
R 2_ On the SD, on the ELEC page, make sure that the line
R connection between the IDG1 (2) and the related AC busbar is
R shown green.
R (b) If the related engine is stopped, on the ELEC control panel 35VU,
R release then push the related ELEC/GEN pushbutton switch (3XU).
R 1_ Start the engine.
R 2_ On the SD, on the ELEC page, make sure that the line
R connection between the IDG1 (2) and the related busbar is
R shown green.
R (c) If the IDG1 (2) is not connected after the GCU reset, do a check
R for other CMS fault messages related to the IDG.

R R (3) Make sure that there are no oil leaks. - Do a check of the oil level. (Ref. TASK 12-13-24-612-041)

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. TASK 71-13-00-410-040): - FOR 1000EM1 437AL, 438AR - FOR 1000EM2 447AL, 448AR
(3) Remove the warning notice(s).

R Installation of the Integrated Drive Generator - IDG 1(2), (4000XU) (New EPGS)
R WARNING : DO NOT GET ENGINE OIL ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL_______
R FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH
R YOUR SKIN AND IN TO YOUR BODY.
R CAUTION : DO NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED FUEL OR_______
R OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE
R FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME
R PARTS.
R CAUTION : MAKE SURE YOU HOLD THE NIPPLE AND THE REDUCER WITH A WRENCH WHEN YOU_______
R TORQUE THE TUBE FITTINGS. THIS WILL MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT TORQUE THE
R NIPPLE OR THE REDUCER WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE FITTING.
