(a) Put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2)
Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3)
On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a)
Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b)

4. Procedure
_________
(Ref. Fig. 602/TASK 24-21-00-991-907)
Subtask 24-21-00-020-057
A. Removal of the Lockwire
WARNING : WEAR GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE LOCKWIRE. CUT,
_______ REMOVE AND DISCARD THE LOCKWIRE AS YOU DO THE TASK. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT OR BLIND YOU.
(1) Cut and remove the lockwire (1) from the tension bolt (2).
Subtask 24-21-00-640-051
B. Lubrication of the QAD Adapter and the Tension Bolt
(1)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-027) with a spray to the QAD ring (3), the mating surface between the QAD adapter and the QAD ring,in the zone where you can get access.
(2)
Lubricate the tension bolt (2) with the OILS (Material No. 03-002).
Subtask 24-21-00-220-050
C. Torque Check of the QAD Adapter Tension-Bolt
(Ref. Fig. 603/TASK 24-21-00-991-908)
(1)
Measure the torque value on the tension bolt (2) If the torque on the tension bolt (2) of the QAD adapter is less than 15 lbf.ft (2.03 m.daN), adjust the QAD ring (3). To do this, tap the edge of the QAD ring (3) that you can see with a brass drift to make sure that the torque values you measure are correct. TORQUE the tension bolt (2) to between 265 and 305 lbf.in (2.99 and 3.44 m.daN).
(2)
Shake the antidrive end of the IDG to do a check of the QAD adapter. If the IDG is loose, remove the IDG mounting flange (Ref. TASK 24-21-51-000-040) and the QAD adapter (Ref. TASK 24-21-41-000-040). Tap the edge of the QAD ring (3) again and do the torque check again until the torque value does not decrease by more than 24 lbf.in (0.27 m.daN).
(3)
Do a check of the distance between the ring lug and the bracket of the QAD ring. If the distance is less than 0.56 in. (14.3 mm) minimum, replace the IDG (Ref. TASK 24-21-51-000-040) and the QAD adapter (Ref. TASK 24-21-41-000-040).
