A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the warning notices to tell persons not to start the engine, is in position.
(2)
On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a)
Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b)
Make sure that the warning notice to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2), is in position.

A. Visual Check of the Connecting Surfaces
(1)
Remove the protective cover from the accessory-gearbox mounting pad (1).
(2)
Do a visual check of the QAD adapter (2) for damage from incorrect shipping or handling.
(3)
Do a visual check of the connecting surfaces of the QAD adapter (2) and the accessory-gearbox mounting-pad (1). They must be smooth and clean.

B. Lubrication of the QAD Adapter Tension Bolt CAUTION : LUBRICATE THE QAD ADAPTER TENSION-BOLT BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE
_______ ADAPTER ON THE GEARBOX MOUNTING PAD. NO LUBRICANT ON THE TENSION BOLT CAN CAUSE INCREASED WEAR TO THE TENSION BOLT AND THE BRACKET.
(1) Apply OILS (Material No. 03-002) to the QAD tension bolt. R **ON A/C 001-049, 051-099, 101-149, 151-199, 201-299, 301-399,

C. Installation of the QAD Adapter WARNING : DO NOT GET CLEANING FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. PUT ON
_______ PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, GOGGLES AND A FACE MASK. USE THE FLUID IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA. DO NOT BREATHE THE VAPOR. IF YOU GET THE CLEANING FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES FLUSH IT AWAY WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
CAUTION : DO NOT LET THE LUBRICANT STAY IN THE DOWEL PIN HOLES AND SCREW
_______ HOLES OF THE QAD ADAPTER. LUBRICANT BUILDUP CAN CAUSE THE PRESSURE TO INCREASE. INCREASED PRESSURE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE GEARBOX WHEN YOU INSTALL AND TORQUE THE SCREWS.
(1) Clean the gearbox mounting surface, index pin hole and screw holes.
(a) Use a clean cotton swab and lint-free cloth made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-002) to remove the lubricant from the screw holes and index pin holes.
(b) Use a clean lint-free cloth made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-002) to cleanthe gearbox mounting surface and QAD adapter. Wipe dry before cleaning fluid evaporates.
NOTE : Make sure that the stripe on the QAD ring is aligned with____ the stripe on the adapter plate.
(2) Install the new gasket (6) on the face of the QAD adapter (2). Make sure that the index pin hole of the QAD adapter is aligned with the index pin hole of the QAD gasket.
