B. Draining of the Oil WARNING : WEAR GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE LOCKWIRE. CUT,

Cut and remove the lockwire from the case drain plug (5). NOTE : Approximately 3.8l (1 USgal) of oil will flow into the

container.

Remove the case drain plug (5).
(3)
Remove the O-ring (6) and discard it.
(4)
Drain the oil. NOTE : If the drained oil has a fuel odor, do the servicing of the
____ IDG after oil chemical contamination (Ref. TASK 24-21-00-612-043). If you think that the condition of the drained oil is not correct, do a sampling of the IDG oil for analysis (Ref. TASK 12-32-24-281-001).

C. Removal of the IDG Oil Filter WARNING : WEAR GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE LOCKWIRE. CUT,

Cut and remove the lockwire from the filter cover (4). NOTE : Put a container 5.7 l (1.5 USgal) below the filter cavity.

Remove the filter cover (4).
(3)
Remove and discard the O-ring (3) from the filter cover (4).
(4)
Remove the filter element (2).
(5) Remove and discard the O-ring (1) from the filter element (2).
(6) Install a blanking plug on the filter cavity port.

R (3) Remove and discard the O-ring (3) from the filter cover (4).
R (4) Remove the filter element (2).
R (5) Remove and discard the O-ring (1) from the filter element (2).
R (6) Install a blanking plug on the filter cavity port.

(1) Do the inspection of the filter element(s) (Ref. TASK 24-21-00-210-044).
NOTE : We recommend that you do a visual inspection of the IDG oil____ filter for possible contamination, debris.

E. Lubrication of the Expendable Parts
(1)
Lubricate the new O-ring (1) with OILS (Material No. 03-002).
(2)
Lubricate the new O-ring (3) with OILS (Material No. 03-002).
(3) Lubricate the new O-ring (6) with OILS (Material No. 03-002).

F. Installation of the Case Drain Plug WARNING : WEAR GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE LOCKWIRE. CUT,
_______ REMOVE AND DISCARD THE LOCKWIRE AS YOU DO THE TASK. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT OR BLIND YOU.

Install the new O-ring (6) on the case drain plug (5).
(2)
Install the case drain plug (5).
(3)
TORQUE the case drain plug (5) to between 55 and 75 lbf.in (0.62 and
0.84 m.daN).
(4)
Safety the case drain plug (5) with lockwire 0.032 in. (0.80 mm) dia. (Material No. CP8001) or lockwire 0.032 in. (0.80 mm) dia. (Material No. CP8002).
