A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
In the cockpit, on the overhead panel 25VU and 35VU, make sure that these pushbutton switches are released:
-START,
-APU GEN.
(2)
In the cockpit, make sure that warning notices are in position to tell persons not to operate the pushbutton switches on these overhead panels:
-25VU (APU),
-35VU (ELEC).

B. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged

C. Get Access
(1)
Make sure that the access platform is in position at the access door 811 of the avionics compartment.
(2)
Make sure that the access door 811 is open.

4. Procedure

A. Installation of the GCU
(1)
Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(2)
Make sure that the electrical connectors are clean and in the correct condition.
(3)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(5)
Put the GCU in position in the rack (6).
(6)
Carefully push the GCU until it is connected to the rack receptacle (5).
(7)
Lift the 2 knurled nuts (1) on the 2 studs (2).
(8) Tighten the 2 knurled nuts (1). Subtask 24-23-34-865-055
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s): 6XS, 5XU

C. Operational Test of the GCU
(1) Do an operational test of the GCU via the GPCU from the CFDS (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-740-002).
NOTE : As an alternative procedure, do this operational test without

the CFDS:
(2) Do an operational test of the GCU without the CFDS:
(a) Do the procedure to energize the electrical circuits with the APU (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

(b)
Do the EIS start procedure (Upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only) (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(c)
On the ECAM control panel:
-push the ELEC key to get the ELEC system page.
(d)
On the lower ECAM display unit, make sure that the A/C electrical configuration is correct.
(e)
Do the EIS stop procedure
(Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-002)
(f)
De-energize the electrical circuits supplied from the APU (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
5. Close-up

(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Close the access door 811.
(3)
Remove the access platform(s).
(4)
Remove the warning notice(s).
