Removeoil and grease from tubing and fittings usingone of the followingcleaning methods:
(a)
FirstMethod: (1.) Use vapordegreasingcontaining stabilized trichlorethyleneconformingto Specification MIL-T-7003, (or freon TCM).

(2.) Blow tubingcleanand dry with a stream of dry nitrogen. Exercisecareto ensure that the interiorof the tubing and fittings are thoroughly cleaned.

(b)
Second Method: (1.) Flush with Specification TT-N-95 naphtha. (2.) Blow cleanand dry off all solvent withwater-pumped air. (3.) Flush with SpecificationMIL-F-566anti-icingfluid or SpecificationTT-1-735alcohol. (4.) Rinse thoroughly with fresh water. (5.) Dry thoroughly with a stream of clean, dried,filtered air or by heating to a temperature of


250°Fto 300°F as required.
(6.) The solventsmaybe reused provided they do not becomeexcessivelycontaminatedwith oil. This condition shall be determined asfollows: (a.) Completelyevaporate100 milliliters of the liquid in a weighed glass dish. Evaporation
may be accomplishedby heating at 200°F for approximately 1/2 hour. (b.) After evaporation,cool and weighthe residue. Do not use the solventif the residue exceeds100milligramsin weight.
(c) Third Method: (1.) Flush with hot inhibited alkalinecleaneruntil free from oil and grease. (2.) Rinse thoroughlywith fresh water. (3.) Drythoroughly with a stream of clean, dry,filtered air or by heating at a temperature of
250°F to 300°F as required.
17. FaceMaskCleaning
The pilot, copilot, and passenger maskscan all be cleaned. Disregard those instructions not pertainingto the particularmask.
(a)
Remove the microphonefromthe mask.

(b)
Remove the spongerubberdiscsfromthe mask turrets. Do not usesoap to clean sponge rubberdiscs;this could deterioratethe rubber and give off unpleasant odors. Clean in clear water and squeezedry.

(c)
Wash the rest of the mask with a very mild solution of soapand water.

(d)
Rinsethe maskthoroughlyto remove all traces of soap.

(e)
Makesure the sidesof the breathing bag do not sticktogetherwhiledrying;this actionmay decreasethe life of the rubberin the bag. The mask can be sterilizedwith a solution of 70 percentSpecificationTT-1-735alcohol.

Pneumatic System
A General Description and Operation
Pneumaticsystem pressure is obtained frombleedair outlets of each engine compressor stage.
Bleed air for the pneumatic systemis taken from the main bleed line upstream of the environmental
