F. Lubricationof Threads
Lubricateall fittings on external lines, including attachment pointsat engine and other components,
with proper lubricant (specifiedin Chart 8).
Whenapplyingthread lubricants, proceedas follows:
1.
Thoroughlycleanthreads before applyinglubricant.

2.
Use thread lubricant sparingly.

3.
Apply thread lubricant to male threadsonly.

4.
Lubricatefirst three threads only on straight fittings.

5.
Do not lubricate first two threads on tapered fittings;apply lubricant to next three threads only.

6.
Ensure lubricant doesnot enter fittings or flared areas.

7.
Lubricateanyfittings going to engine with same fluid going throughlines.
