28. Inspectionof Gear Selector Handle
(a)
Ensure handle does not contact slot ends in instrument panel when actuatedto travel extremes.
(b)
Ensure adequate clearanceexists between selector gear mechanism and wiring harness which runs laterally acrossaircraft.
(c)
Ensure locknuts are securely tightenedand all grommets are properly installed.
(d)
Check control cable connections fromactuatorarms to power pack and selector handle.
29. Adjustmentof Gear Selector Handle Mechanism
(a)
Disconnectlanding gear selector control cable from selector handle and power pack control arm.
(b)
Connectspring scale to control arm, pull fore and aft perpendicular to arm centerline, and determineif detent is left at a force of 9 + 1 or 2 pounds. If not, release at required force and adjust mechanism.
(c)
Depressbutton on solenoid lock to allow selector handle to travel freely. With selector handle in up or down position and in detent, a force of 3 1/2 to 6 pounds, applied perpendicular
to handle centerline at knob centerline, is required to move handle from detent.
(d)
Positioncontrolarm on power pack in NEUTRAL by inserting 0.125 inch diameter drill into rigginghole (hole A, Figure 501) in control armand power pack body.
(e)
Place selector handle in NEUTRAL position and hold.
(f)
Positioncontrol cable to allow equal travel at both ends.
(g)
Adjust terminal ends of control cable to obtain neutral position on both control arm and selector handle.
(h)
Connectterminalends of control cable to power pack control arm and selector handle.
(i)
Removedrill from rigging hole in (hole A, Figure 501) power pack.
NOTE: Whenever cable assembly is removed from airplane and reinstalled, seat cable where it passes through pressure bulkheadat Station 57.0 and seal per 51-20-00.
(j)
Safety power pack control arm attachment pin (Figure 407).
(k)
Check operation of gear selector handle mechanism as follows:
(1)
Place airplane on jacks.
(2)
Connect hydraulic test unit.
(3)
Operategear selector handle through entire travel and cycle gear both up and down.

Removepoppetfrompoppetseat.

Use a brasshook,not over0.125 inch long, and pullpoppetseatup and out of powerpackbody. Hookthroughholesinsideseatwhile notdamagingbore in body.
(e)
Reassemblepoppetintopoppetseat.
32. Assemblyof Main ReliefValve. (Figure403, Item 1)
(a)
Inspectpoppetandpoppetseatfor pitting or score marks. Twopartsare matchedpartsand mustbe replacedas assembly only.
(b)
Lubricateand installO-ringand backup ring on poppetseat. Insertpoppetinto seat and install assemblyintobody.
(c)
Lubricatethreads,installrelief valve bodyintopowerpackbody,andtorqueto 70 inch-pounds.
(d)
Installbottomand spring intoreliefvalvebody. Secure with adjustingscrew.Adjustingscrew providesadjustmentof main reliefvalveandmustbe installedflush.
33. Adjustmentof MainReliefValve. (Figure403,Item 1)
(a)
Withinputshaftin gear UPor gear DOWNposition,applypressureuntil fluidflowsfrommain reliefvalve.
(b)
Adjustscrew on top of main reliefvalve until valvebeginsto open at 1900 -1950 psi (see29-00-00,Chart2). Bleedpressureaftereachadjustmentbycrackingcapon door openfitting.
34. Disassemblyof PriorityValve. (Figure 403, Item10)
(a)
Removeadjustingscrewat top of priority valve.
(b)
Removepriorityvalvebodycontainingspring,button,and poppet.
(c)
Usebrasshookto removepoppetseatfrombody. Be carefulnot to damagebore.
(d)
CarefullyremoveO-ringfrom bottomof cavity.

(a)
Lubricateand installO-ringand poppetbackup. Insertpoppetintopriorityvalvebody.
