B. Cabin Entrance Door Step Mechanism
1. Steps Removal
With cabin entrance door opened and steps extended, removestepsas follows:
(a)
Removenuts, bolts, and washers fromboth sides of the steps connectingstepsupporttubes which link the three steps together.
(b)
Removehingepinssecuringstep half of hinge with door half of hinge; removesteps.
2. Steps Installation
(a)
Positionsteps to door. Install hinge pins.
(b)
Positionstep support tubesalong sides of steps. Be sure to place tube with door support cable guideon forward side of door. Be sure step stops, on step support tubes,point forward toward centerof entrance door.
NOTE: Check that door support cable is routed betweenroller and bracket on forward step support tube assembly.
(c)
Install bolts through stepsupport tubes, washersbetweentubes and step brackets and secure with locknuts.

Handle (Inside) Removal (Figure 402)
1.
Removescrew pin from handle.
2.
Removehandle and teflon washer.
3.
Removescrewssecuringcover plate and removeplate.
4.
Removemachinescrewsandlocknutsto remove spindle from door.
5.
Reachinto opening made by removing coverplate. Remove boltand locknut securing outer handle and shaft to bellcrank.
D. Cabin Entrance Door Latch Mechanism Thelatching mechanism consistsof seven locking lugs and a series of push-pull rodsand bellcranks, all controlled from a centrally located handle.
1. LatchingMechanismRemoval (Figure 402)
(a) Upperand lower latchingmechanism: (1.) Remove interior trim panels from door. (2.) Remove cover plate over bellcrank. (3.) Remove boltconnectingverticalpushrodto bellcrank. (4.) Remove bolts connecting right or left push rod, or both if necessary, to removecomplete
assembly.
(5.) Removebellcrankorpushrod and lugs.
(b)Centerlatchingmechanism: (1.) Remove interiortrim panels fromdoor,if not previously removed. (2.) Remove inside handle and cover plate. (3.) Remove bolts, spacers, andlocknutsconnectingverticalpush rods whichextendto upper
and lower latchingmechanismbellcranks. (4.) Removebolts connecting rightor left push rod, or both if necessary, toremovecomplete
assembly. (5.) Removeboltand locknut, and remove bellcrank. (6.) Removeoutsidehandlefromoutside of door. (7.) Removepush rods extendingto sides of door and appropriate lockinglugs.

(1.) Installpushrods, and lockinglugsinto door. (2.) Install bellcranks;positionupper bellcrank withpush-pullrod attachment pointtoforward sideof door, andlower bellcrank withpush-pullrod attachment pointto aft side of door. (3.) Install upperverticalpushrod(curved end up) to upperbellcrank.Securewith right push
rodusing bolt, washer, and locknut. (4.) Connectleft push rod to bellcrank.Securewithbolt, washer, andlocknut. (5.) Install lowerverticalpush rod tolowerbellcrank.Secure with leftpushrodusingbolt,
washer,andlocknut.
(6.) Install cover platesand adjust lugs.
