Placethe gaugeintothe panelfromthefront andreplacethe clampand retainernuton the back of the gauge. Be surethe gaugeis positionedproperlybeforetighteningthe clamp.

Reconnectthe lineat the rearof thegauge.
11. SurgeValveRemoval(referto Figure402)
(a)
Closethe controlvalveanddepressurizethe oxygensystemas required.
(b)
Removethe surge valve.
(c)
Checkthe operationof the system. If a malfunctionof surgevalveis found,disassemblethe valveto the extent of removalof a defectivepart (diaphragm,O-ring,or spring).
(d)
Inspectthe filter in the inlet port. If required, cleanthe assembledbodyand sinteredfilterin an ultrasoniccleaner. Ensurethat detailpartsdo not comeintocontactwith hydrocarbon-based
materials(solvents,oil, grease,etc).
(e)
Reassembleusing newO-ringand serviceablereplacementpartsas required.

13. Outlet Removal
(a)
Using a suitablespannerwrench,remove the outerhalfof the outlet.
(b)
Removethe screws holdingthetrim panel and remove the panel.
(c)
Theoutlet can now be removedfrom the low pressure line.
14. Outlet Installation
(a)
ApplyPermacel#412 ribbondopethreadsealantto the maleendof the fitting.
(b)
Connectthe outlet to the lowerpressureline.
(c)
Positionthe trim panel and securewith screws.
(d)
Positionthe outer half outlet and securewith a suitable spanner wrench.
(e)
Tightenthe fittings into the outletsto a torque of approximately 30 inch-pounds.Do not overtightenfittingsas this coulddamage the outlet.

15.OxygenPlumbing Replacement (referto Figure 403)
Thefollowingprovidesinformationon installation ofoxygenplumbinglinesif rigid tubing mustbe installed,especiallyif relocation is required. Safetylimitationsaredescribedin the rulesnoted below.
(a)
All installed oxygenplumbingmust be above andat least 6 inches from all hydraulic andfuel plumbing.
(b)
Theremustbe at least two inches minimumclearancebetweenall oxygen plumbingand componentsand any aircraftmovingpartsinareas where fuel or hydraulicplumbingand electrical wiring exist.Alloxygenplumbingand components mustbeat least 12 inches from primaryflight controls and engine controls.
(c)
Wherepossible,alloxygenplumbingand components mustbe at least 6 inches from electrical wiringandcomponents.Whereit is not possibleto maintain 6 inches clearance, a2 inch clearanceis acceptable providedthe wire bundlesaresupportedin conduit or with closely spacedclampsor clips. Where2 inch clearanceis not possible, boththe wiring andthe oxygen componentsmust be protected withadditionalinsulationand supported insucha manner that they cannot be deflectedto within 1 1/2 inch of each other.
(d)
Maintaina minimum clearanceof 1/8 inch between oxygentubingandthe structure adjoining thesupportingclamp(See sketch A).
(e)
All low pressure oxygenlines must maintaina minimum clearanceof 1/8 inch to prevent contact with anotherobject(nut, bolt, bracket,etc.) when sufficiently supported.Thesame holds true for high pressure lines,excepthighpressuremust maintain 1/2inch min imum slearance(See sketch B).
(f)
Wherean oxygen tubepassesthroughagrommet,thetubemust not bear on the grommetin any way to cause the grommet to cut in service (Seesketch C).
