D. Dry EngineMotoringRun
The dry engine motoring run is used:
1.
To clear engineof trapped fuel or vaporsafter an unsuccessful enginestart.
2.
To check fuel system for leaks after a component replacement.
3.
If there is evidenceof a fire within the engine.
NOTE: Refer to Pratt and Whitney MaintenanceManual,p/n 3034342, 71-06-20for Dry Engine Motoring Run.
E. WetEngineMotoringRun
A wet engine motoringrun is used strictlyfor engine maintenancepurposes.Itis not a part of normal enginestart procedures.
NOTE: Refer to Pratt and Whitney Maintenance Manual,p/n 3034342, 71-06-20for Wet Engine Motoring Run.

F. Engine Performance Check
Engineperformancecheck procedures must be done periodically to detect engine performance changesand mechanical deterioration.Referto Pratt & Whitney MaintenanceManual, p/n 3034342, 71-06-20 and to Chart 4 this section, for specificcheck procedures.
NOTE: Engine instrumentationand altimeter must be correctly calibratedbefore making any power checks.
G. Engine Data Plate Speed Check
The gas generator trim speed, recorded during final engine acceptancetests,is stamped on the engine data plate. Data plate speed check curvesare used to determine desired engine performance parameters. Refer to Pratt & Whitney MaintenanceManual,p/n 3034342 and informationletter number eight for specific instructions.See Chart 4, in this manual for assurance check curves.
H. Feather Stop Adjustment
1. General
NOTE: Refer to the Pilot's OperatingHandbookfor detailed procedures and operating check lists for feathering and unfeathering a propeller while in flight.
(a) Perform the following propeller feathering check during the first flight following an engine installation:
(1.) Installed engine: Power off.
(2.) Installed engine: Propellerfeathered.
(3.) Operating engine: Maximumcontinuouspower.
(4.) Airspeed: 118 KIAS
(5.) Aircraft trimmed longitudinallyand directionally with no more than 5 degree angle of bank
into operating engine.
NOTE: Hartzell HC-B3TN-3Kpropellersareused, having external feather stops.
(b)Adjust feather stops if propellerrotateseither direction when in feathered position.
2. External Feather Stop Adjustment
(a)Location: Back side of each link arm just in front of guide collar.
(b)
Use felt tip marker to mark a location referenceacross spinner and spinner bulkhead.
(c)
Removespinner.
(d)
Refer to Figure 514. Removedomenut.
(e)
Refer to Figure 514. To gain access to feather stop adjustment alien screws, by hand, rotate propeller blades toward low pitch (high rpm) position.
(f)
Use a 5/32 alien wrench to adjust feather stop screws.
(1.) A 0.024 inch linear movement of adjustment screwchanges propeller blade angle
approximatelyonedegree. (2.) Move adjustment screwsinto piston if propeller rotatesclockwisewhenfeathered. (3.) Move adjustment screws rotates when
out of piston if propeller counterclockwise feathered.
