(d)Lubricatethepistonassembly,endcapassembly,andtheboreofcylinderbody.
(e)Slideendcapassemblyontothepistonassembly.

Slidepistonwithendcapintocylinder,torquingendcapto 65inch-pounds.Securetocylinder bodyusingsafetywire.

Installstopandnutwithkeyonpiston.

17. Installationof Nose Gear Actuating Cylinder
(a) Positionattachmentend of cylinder and up lock rod end of nose gear on mounting bracket. Install attachment bolt and secure.
(b)Connectoperatingrodend of cylinder to gear link assembly.
(c) Connecthydrauliclines to cylinder.
(d)Check operation of installation and landing gear rigging.
(e) Removeairplanefrom jacks.
18. Inspectionof Nose Gear Actuating Cylinder
(a)
Inspectcylinder interior walls and piston exterior surfaces for scratches, burrs,corrosion,etc.
(b)
Inspectthreadedareasfor damage.
(c)
Inspectrod end fitting for wear and corrosion.
19.Cleaningof Nose Gear Actuating Cylinder
(a)Clean cylinder parts with a suitable solvent and dry thoroughly.

Repair of Nose Gear Actuating Cylinder
Repairsto cylinder is limited to polishing outsmall scratches, burrs,etc, and replacing parts.

Removalof Gear Door Actuating Cylinders
(a)With master switch off, actuate hand pump handle to bring gear door open.
(b)
Disconnecthydrauliclines from actuating cylinder.Cover open line ends to prevent contamination.
(c)
Disconnectcylinder from the door and its mounting bracket.
(d)
Removecylinder from wheel well.
