Lights
A. General Compartment
This chapter, used in conjunction with PA-42-720 (AdvancedTrainer) Wiring Diagram Manual, provides assistancein servicing the aircraft's lighting system.
WARNING: HIGH VOLTAGES EXIST IN LIGHTING SYSTEM CIRCUITS. FAILURE TO FOLLOW SAFETY PRECAUTIONS MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
The electroluminescent EL panels are activated with 140 Vac, 400 Hertz from the EL inverter. The fluorescent, glareshield flood lighting is supplied with a minimum of 375 Vac via the coaxial harness and dimmer inverter. The anti-collision strobes are supplied with 450 Vdc to the xenon tubes from the strobepowersupply.
Refer to Wiring Diagram Manual for point to point, wire to wire information, and 24-30-OOof the PA-42-720 (Advanced Trainer) Maintenance Manual for power distribution and systems components such as circuit breakers and switch panel information.
1. WarningLightSystem
(a) Annunciator Panel Lamp Test
The annunciator panel is located above the instrument panel.
Push the PUSH TO TEST switch to check operation of lamps.
2. Fluorescent Glareshield Lighting
(a) Removalof Pilot/Copilot Flood Lights
(1.) Ensure electrical power is off.
(2.) Remove cover panels to expose fluorescenttubes.
(3.) Remove tube, or tubes, from fixtures.
(b) Installation of Pilot/Copilot Flood Lights
(1.) Replace tube, or tubes, in fixtures.
(2.) Reinstall royalite panel.
(3.) Install cover panels to fluorescent tubes.
(c) Adjustmentof Glareshield FluorescentLightingInverter
(1.) Ensure electrical power is off.
(2.) Remove cover panels.
