Placetheairplaneonjacks. (RefertoJacking,7-10-00.)

Withthe hand pump,retractthenosegearslightlytorelievethegearfromitsdownlocked

position.


(f)  
Toremovethedraglinkassembly,thefollowingprocedureis used:


(1.) Disconnectthegearretractionrodfromtheupperrightdraglink.
(2.) Disconnectthelowerdraglinkfromthegearoleohousing.
(3.) Theupperandlowerlinkassembliesareremovedasoneunitbyremovingtheupperdrag

linksattachmentboltsattheirattachmentplates.
(g) Withthelowerdraglinkdisconnectedfromthegearhousing,removethegearbyremovingtheattachmentboltassembliesattheattachmentplatesoneachsideofthegearhousing.Note thenumberandlocationof spacerwashersbetweenthegearhousingandattachmentplates.
(h)Theidlerlinkis removed afterdisconnectingthegearoperatingrod as follows:
(1.) Removethedownlock spring andtheeyeboltattachedtotheidlerlink.
(2.) Disconnectthegearactuatingcylinderrodfromthelink.
(3.) Removethelinkpivotboltbyslidingtheboltoutofthe link allowingtheheadtoenterthe

holeinthesideof the limitbracket.Withtheheadthroughthebrackethole,thethreaded endoftheboltcancontinueoutofthelink. (4.) Removetheidlerlink.
(i)  
Theuplockcableis removed byremovingthenutfromtheactuatingcylindersupportboltand slidingthe cable offthebolt. Retainthebolt in placeto supportthecylinder.

(j)
Theup lockhookisremovedafterremovaloftheuplockcable,blowdownactuatingrod,andthehookpivotbolt. Removethehookwiththeuplockspring.


NOTE:Theidlerlink,up lock cableanduplockhookcanberemovedwiththesupporttubeas
oneunit.

(k)
Toremovesupporttube,removetheup limit switchand wire supportclamps.Holdsupportnutsinthenosesectionwithawrenchwhileremovingboltsandremovesupporttube.

(I)
Thegearhousingattachmentplatesare removed bygrindingtherivetheadsflushwiththe plateandremovingtherivets.


(m)Theupperdraglinksandattachmentplatesareremovedbyholdingtheattachmentnutsinthe nosesectionwitha wrench andremovingthesupportbolts.
