(a)
Put the contactor in its position on the P714 or P715 panel.
(b)
Install the four screws that attach the contactor to the panel.
(c)
Tighten the screws.

Connect the electrical leads to the contactor:
(a)
Loosen the screws that attach the two terminal covers to the contactor.
(b)
Remove the terminal covers.
(c)
Remove the nuts and the washers from the terminal studs on the contactor.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT THE CORRECT ELECTRICAL LEAD TO EACH
_______ STUD ON THE CONTACTOR. AN INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE CIRCUIT AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(d) Connect the electrical leads to the terminal studs on the contactor.
CAUTION: DO NOT INSTALL THE WASHERS BELOW THE ELECTRICAL LEADS.
_______ THIS WILL CAUSE HEAT THAT CAN BURN THE STUDS ON THE CONTACTOR.
(e)
Install the washers, the lockwashers, and the nuts on the terminal studs.
(f)
Tighten the nuts.
(g)
Remove the identification tags from the electrical leads.
(h)
Put the terminal covers in their positions on the contactor.
(i)
Tighten the screws that attach the terminal covers to the contactor.

Close the access door of the P714 panel or the P715 panel.

Do a Test of the External Power Contactor

(1) Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).
S 714-033
(2) Do a test of the external power contactor:
(a) Push the EXT PWR 1 on the P5 panel.
(b) Make sure the ON light on the switch goes off.
(c) Get access to the EXISTING FAULTS for Chapter 24 (if any) on
the CMCS (AMM 45-10-00/201).
(d) Make sure the CMCS messages for the applicable external power
contactor do not show.
(e) Push the EXT PWR 1 switch and the EXT PWR 2 switch.
(f) Make sure the EXT PWR 1 ON light on the switch comes on.
(g) Make sure the EXT PWR 2 ON light on the switch goes off.
(h) Make sure the CMCS messages for the applicable external power
contactor do not show.
(i) Push the EXT PWR 2 switch.
(j) Make sure the ON light on the switch comes on.

EXTERNAL POWER TRANSFORMER RECTIFIER UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. One task is the removal of the external-power transformer-rectifier unit (TRU) (T1 and T97). The other task is the installation of the TRU.
B. The external power TRUs are installed between the nose gear wheel well and the fuselage on the left side. The TRUs are installed on the forward side of the bulkhead (station 400), forward of the main equipment center.
C. Access to the TRUs is through a small opening forward of the E/E
compartment.
