Attach an identification tag to each electrical lead.

Remove the electrical leads from the transformer.

Install the transformer:
(a)
Put the transformer in its position on the panel.

Install the four screws that attach the transformer to the panel.
(c)
Tighten the screws.

Connect the electrical leads:
(a)
Remove the nuts, the washers, and the screws that attach the terminal cover to the transformer.
(b)
Remove the terminal cover.
(c)
Remove the nuts and the washers from the terminal studs on the transformer.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU CONNECT THE CORRECT ELECTRICAL LEAD TO EACH
_______ STUD ON THE TRANSFORMER. AN INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE A MALFUNCTION OF THE CIRCUIT AND DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(d) Connect the electrical leads to the terminal studs on the terminal.
CAUTION: DO NOT INSTALL THE WASHERS BELOW THE ELECTRICAL LEADS.
_______ THIS WILL CAUSE HEAT THAT CAN BURN THE STUDS ON THE TERMINAL.
(e)
Install the washers and nuts on the terminal studs.
(f)
Tighten the nuts.
(g)
Remove the identification tags from the electrical leads.
(h)
Put the terminal cover in its position on the transformer.
(i)
Install the screws, the washers, and the nuts that attach the terminal cover to the terminal.
(j)
Tighten the nuts.

(3) Close the access door(s) for the panel.
D. Do a Test of the 28-Volt AC Transformer

(2) S 714-017Do a test of the main transformer, if it is necessary: (a) Turn the dimmer control knob for the captain's map light, on the P72 lightshield, fully clockwise. (b) Make sure the captain's map light comes on. (c) Set the dimmer control knob to OFF.
(3) S 714-018Do a test of the ground-service bus transformer, if it is necessary: (a) Turn the dimmer control knob for the dome lights in the flight compartment fully clockwise. (b) Make sure the dome lights come on. (c) Set the dimmer control knob to OFF.
(4) S 864-023Remove electrical power, if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).
