 A.  This procedure contains a task to do the operation test of the main battery (M7423).
 B.  The main battery is installed between the fuselage and the wheel well for the nose gear, on the right side. Access to the main battery is through a small access opening forward of the E/E compartment.

 (a)  
Get access to the maintenance page for the electrical system (AMM 45-10-00/201).

 (b)  
Make sure the DC-Volts for the main battery is more than 24 volts.

 (c)  
Make sure the DC-Amps is in the positive CHG mode.

 (d)  
Set the STANDBY POWER switch, on the P5 panel, to BAT.

 (e)  
Make sure the main EICAS display operates correctly.

 (f)  
Make sure the advisory EICAS messages >BAT DISCH MAIN and BAT DISCH APU show on the main EICAS screen.

 (g)  
Set the STANDBY POWER switch, on the P5 panel, to AUTO.

 BATTERY CONNECTOR - INSPECTION/CHECK

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure has these tasks.
 (1)  
The inspection and check of the main and APU battery connectors (DM7423A), (DM7423B), (DM7432A) and (DM7432B).

 B.  
The main battery is installed between the fuselage and the wheel well for the nose gear, on the right side. Access to the main battery is through a small access opening forward of the E/E compartment.

 C.  
The APU battery is installed on the E-33 equipment rack with the APU battery charger. The E-33 equipment rack is on the left side of the aft passenger cabin. Access to the E-33 equipment rack is through the E-33 access door.
