Prepare for the Test

CAUTION:_______DO NOT OPERATE THE APU DURING THIS TEST. TRANSIENTS CAN CAUSE AUTOSHUTDOWN AND DAMAGE TO THE PACKS AND APU.
(1) Supply external electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
NOTE: If you supply one external power source only, it is possible
____ that the SSB will open during the test. If the SSB opens, find the SPLIT SYSTEM BREAKER switch on the GEN FIELD MAN RESET module (P461 panel). Move the switch up, then down. This will close the SSB.

Do a check of the indicator lights for the electrical system.
(a)
Set the IND LTS switch, on the P5 panel, to TEST.
(b)
Make sure all the indicator lights for the electrical system on the P5 panel and the P461 panel come on.
(c)
Set the IND LTS switch to BRT.

Make sure the BUS TIE 1, 2, 3, and 4 ISLN lights on the P5 panel are off.
(a)
If an ISLN light is on, push the applicable BUS TIE switch.

Open this circuit breaker to remove power from the ground service bus for the dome lights in the flight compartment:

Make sure the captain's dome lights are on.

Make sure the IRS mode select switches, on the P5 panel, are set to OFF.

Make sure the GND TESTS switch, on the P461 panel, is set to NORM.

WARNING: MAKE SURE TO OPEN THE APPLICABLE ENGINE IGNITION CIRCUIT
_______ BREAKERS BEFORE YOU DO THE TEST. THE IGNITER PLUGS CAN AUTOMATICALLY FIRE IF YOU DO NOT OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS. WITH FUEL IN THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER, AN INTERNAL ENGINE OR TAILPIPE FIRE CAN OCCUR. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

For the applicable engine, open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

2) 6K19, IGN 2 ENG 1
3) 6G19, STBY IGN ENG 1
4) 6F2, IGN 1 ENG 2
5) 6K20, IGN 2 ENG 2
6) 6G20, STBY IGN ENG 2
7) 6F3, IGN 1 ENG 3
8) 6K21, IGN 2 ENG 3
9) 6G21, STBY IGN ENG 3
10) 6F4, IGN 1 ENG 4
11) 6K22, IGN 2 ENG 4
