MAIN BATTERY AND BATTERY TRANSFER RELAYS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. One task is the removal of the main battery relay (R7223) or the battery transfer relay (R7224). The other task is the installation of the relay.
B. The tasks are the same for the two relays.
C. The installation task includes an operational test of the relays.
D. The relays are installed in the P180 DC power distribution panel. The P180 panel is between the nose gear wheel well and the fuselage, on the right side. Access to the P180 panel is through an access opening, forward of the E/E compartment.

Disconnect the electrical connectors from the batteries:
(a)
Turn the knob on the main battery connector (DM7423A) counterclockwise until the connector is free from the main battery receptacle.
(b)
Turn the knob on the APU battery connector (DM7432A) counterclockwise until the connector is free from the APU battery receptacle.

Open the access doors for the P180 panel.

Disconnect the electrical leads from the relay:
(a)
Remove the nuts and washers that attach the electrical leads to the studs on the relay.
(b)
Disconnect the leads from the relay.
NOTE: Put a tag on each electrical lead to identify the leads
____ when you install the relay.
(c)
Install the washers and nuts on the studs.
