Do a test of the APU battery charger:
(a)
AIRPLANES WITH BATTERY CHARGER AND BATTERY LIGHTS. Make sure the battery charger light is on.
(b)
Get access to the EXISTING FAULTS page for Chapter 24 (if any) on the CMCS (AMM 45-10-00/201).
(c)
Make sure the CMCS messages for the APU battery charger do not show.
(d)
Get access to the maintenance page for the electrical system (AMM 45-10-00/201).
(e)
Make sure the DC-Volts for the APU battery is more than 24 volts.
(f)
Make sure the charge mode for DC-Amps is positive (between 31 to 43 amps).
(3)
Remove electrical power, if it is not necessary (Ref 24-22-00/201).

APU BATTERY CHARGER DISABLE RELAY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. One task is the removal of the disable relay (R7218) for the APU battery charger. The other task is the installation of the disable relay.
B. The installation task includes an operational test of the disable relay.
C. The disable relay is installed behind the P183 panel, in the E-33 equipment rack. The equipment rack is on the left side of the closet at the aft end of the passenger cabin. Access to the E-33 equipment rack is through the E-33 access door.

Make sure all electrical power is off (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Make sure the BATTERY switch, on the P5 panel, is set to OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.

Disconnect the electrical connectors from the APU battery.

Turn the knob on the APU battery connector (DM7432A) counterclockwise until the connector is free from the main battery receptacle.
