Remove the six screws that attach the APU battery to the APU battery tray in the E-33 equipment rack.
(d)
Remove the APU battery.

Install the APU Battery

(1)
If any of the following conditions are found on the APU battery connectors, replace the battery:
(a)
Electrolyte leakage through the receptacle body and/or the contact pins.
(b)
Arcing or burn marks on the contact pins.
(c)
Damage to the sensor connector pins or locking mechanism.

Install the APU battery:
(a)
Put the APU battery on the APU battery tray in the E-33 equipment rack.
(b)
Install the six screws that attach the APU battery to the APU battery tray.
(c)
Tighten the screws.
(d)
Push the APU battery tray into the E-33 equipment rack.
(e)
Tighten the lock-screws.

Remove the insulation blanket fastener (AMM 25-59-05/601).

Move the insulation blanket to gain access to the APU battery
ground stud.
Make sure the terminal lug is not damaged, deformed, discolored
or annealed.
1) If the terminal lug, ground strap or stud is damaged,
deformed, discolored or annealed, repair or replace the terminal lug, ground strap or stud (SWPM 20-30-00).
NOTE: If the terminal lug is annealed, use a high

temperature terminal lug to replace the lug
(SWPM 20-30-11).
2) Do the following steps to make sure the APU battery ground is satisfactory:
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL ON THE GROUND WIRE AFTER THE GROUND STUD
_______ IS TIGHTENED. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT OR AIRPLANE STRUCTURE MAY OCCUR.
3) Make sure the APU battery ground stud nuts are torqued from 180 to 200 pound-inch (SWPM 20-30-00). 4) Make sure the electrical bonding of the APU battery ground
is 0.0001 ohms (SWPM 20-20-00).If the terminal lug, ground strap or stud is not damaged, deformed discolored or annealed and the electrical bonding of the ground stud is in question, do the following steps:
CAUTION: DO NOT PULL ON THE GROUND WIRE AFTER THE GROUND STUD
_______ IS TIGHTENED. DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT OR AIRPLANE STRUCTURE MAY OCCUR.
1) Make sure the APU battery ground stud nuts are torqued from 180 to 200 pound-inch (SWPM 20-30-00). 2) Make sure the electrical bonding of the APU battery ground
is 0.0001 ohms (SWPM 20-20-00).Clean the fuselage next to the APU battery ground stud. Make sure the battery ground stud area is free of dust and dirt (AMM 51-24-13/701).
