MAIN BATTERY CHARGER DISABLE RELAY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. One task is the removal of the disable relay (R7208) for the main battery charger. The other task is the installation of the disable relay.
B. The installation task includes an operational test of the disable relay.
C. The disable relay is installed in the power distribution center (P414 panel). The power distribution center is in the E/E compartment. Access to the E/E compartment is through the door behind the nose wheel or through the forward cargo compartment.

Procedure
(1)
Make sure all electrical power is off (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Make sure the BATTERY switch, on the P5 panel, is set to OFF and attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag.
(3)
Open the access door on the P414 panel.

Remove the disable relay:
(a)
Remove the three screws that attach the relay to the panel.

(b) Remove the disable relay from the panel.

Install the Main Battery Charger Disable Relay

(1)
Install the disable relay:
(a)
Install the three screws that attach the relay to the P414 panel.
(b)
Tighten the screws.

Close the access door on the P414 panel.

Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the BATTERY switch.

Do a Test of the Main Battery Charger Disable Relay
(1)
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Do a test of the disable relay:
(a)
Set the STANDBY POWER switch, on the P5 overhead panel, to BAT.
(b)
Make sure the advisory EICAS message >BAT DISCH MAIN shows on the main EICAS display.
(c)
Set the STANDBY POWER switch to AUTO.
