APU STATIC INVERTER - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. One task is the removal of the APU static inverter (M8128). The other task is the installation of the inverter.
B. The installation task includes an operational test of the inverter.
C. The APU static inverter is installed in the E-8 equipment rack. The E-8 equipment rack is on the left side of the aft crew rest area. Access to the E-8 equipment rack is through the aft crew rest area.

(1)
If electrical power is on the airplane, do these steps:
(a)
Make sure the standby power switch is set to OFF.
(b)
Attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag to the switch.

Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:

P6 Main Power Distribution Panel
1) 6J6 AC STBY PWR APU BAT CONT

(3) Remove the APU static inverter from the E-8 equipment rack (Ref 20-11-22/401).

Install the APU Static Inverter

(1)
Install the APU static inverter in the E-8 equipment rack
(Ref 20-11-22/401).
(a)
Tighten the self-locking nut on the + (positive) terminal of the static inverter to 140 +/- 5 inch-pounds.
(b)
Tighten the self-locking nut on the - (negative) terminal of the static inverter to 70 +/- 5 inch-pounds.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:
