A test button located on top of the control unit, when pressed will start an
internal BITE test to check the system.
Two light emmiting diodes (LED) in the control unit show the correct status
of the system " Heater OK " and " Unit OK ".

(Ref. Fig. 007, 008) The waste water ice protection system cannot be controlled manually. The waste water ice protection system operates automatically when the related circuit breakers are closed. The system is available with the aircraft electrical-circuits energized and through closed circuit breakers 1DU, 20DU, 11DU, 21DU, 32DU, 1DW and 2DW. 115 V AC is supplied from the normal busbar 212XP-A to the control unit 5DU which controls the heater of fwd drain mast 4DU. 115 V AC is supplied from the GND/FLT busbar 212XP-C to the control unit 15DU which controls the heater of aft drain mast 14DU. 115 V AC is supplied from the GND/FLT busbar 212XP-B to the FWD air stop drain valve thermostat which controls the operation of the air stop drain valve heater. 115 V AC is supplied from the GND/FLT busbar 212XP-C to the control unit 25DU which controls the thermostat and heaters of the middle drain mast 24DU. 115 V AC is supplied from the GRN/FLT busbar 212XP-C to the AFT air stop drain-valve thermostat which controls the operation of the air stop drain valve heater. The control unit 33DW controls the related sensor and heaters installed on the drain lines of the aft cargo compartment drainage system. 115 V AC is supplied from the GND/FLT busbar 212XP-C to the control unit 3DW. 28 V DC is supplied from the GND/FLT busbar 602PP to the control unit 3DW. The control unit 3DW controls the related sensor and heaters installed on the drain lines of the fwd cargo compartment drainage system. The sensor measures the waste water drain lines permamently, the control unit compares the measured values with the stored reference values. When icing conditions occure the control unit will turn on the power supply to the tape heating circuits. A test button located on top of the control unit, when pressed will start an internal BITE test to check the system. Two light emmiting diodes (LED) in the control unit show the correct status of the system " Heater OK " and " Unit OK ".
