 Install the wiper blade (2) on the wiper arm (3).

 (2)
 Install the bolt (1) with SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-002). TORQUE the bolt (1) to 0.22 m.daN (19.46 lbf.in).

 DRAIN MAST ICE PROTECTION - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 1. General

R **ON A/C 001-049, 052-099, 101-149, 151-199, 201-299, 301-399, 401-499,
 (Ref. Fig. 001) The waste water ice protection is installed to prevent ice formation in the drain lines and fwd and aft drain masts. The waste water which comes from the galley and lavatory washbasins is discarded through the drain lines and drain masts to atmosphere. Waste water lines installed in areas of posssible icing conditions, are heated by electrical tape heating elements and insulated. Heaters are installed in the fwd and aft drain masts to prevent ice formation. Ice-Protection control units are installed in the fwd and aft cargo compartments regulate through the sensors the heating elements of the drain lines and drain masts.

 (Ref. Fig. 001) The waste water ice protection is installed to prevent ice formation in the fwd and aft drain masts. The waste water which comes from the galley and lavatory washbasins is discarded through the drain lines and the drain masts to atmosphere. Waste water lines installed in areas of posssible icing conditions, are heated by electrical tape heating elements and insulated. Heaters are installed in the fwd and aft drain masts to prevent ice formation. A heated and insulated drainage system is installed in the fwd and aft cargo compartments to drain condensation which can cause corrosion and formation of ice. Ice Protection control units are installed in the fwd and aft cargo compartments of the aircraft to regulate through the sensors the heating elements of the drain mast, waste water lines and the fwd and aft cargo compartment drainage system.
