F. Crew Oxygen Cylinder Removal

(1) Prepare to remove the oxygen cylinder:
(a)
Make sure that the airplane is correctly grounded (AMM 20-41-01/201).
(b)
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag:
1) On the overhead circuit breaker panel, P7: a) 0936 7D4, OXYGEN VALVE & IND
(c)
Open the access door to the crew oxygen cylinder.

(2) Remove the oxygen cylinder:
(a)
Close the shutoff valve on the crew oxygen cylinder slowly with your hand (a maximum of 25 inch-pounds, 2.8 newton-meters).
(b)
Slowly loosen the coupling nut on the high pressure cylinder to release the pressure, then disconnect the coupling nut.

(c)
Disconnect the B-nut on the crew supply line from the bulkhead fitting at the retaining nut.
(d)
Push the coupling to one side on its hinged bracket.
(e)
Disconnect the B-nut on the crew supply line from the retaining nut on the bulkhead fitting.
(f)
Disconnect the B-nut on the overboard discharge line.
(g)
Remove the T-bolt nut.
(h)
Move the front bracket forward and let the retainer cable move down.
(i)
Pull the crew oxygen cylinder forward and remove it.
NOTE: The crew oxygen cylinder weighs 35 to 46 pounds.

WARNING: SEAL THE CONNECTIONS WITH "OXYGEN CLEAN" CAPS TO PREVENT
_______ CONTAMINATION. CLEAN USED CAPS AS SPECIFIED IN THE "OXYGEN CLEAN" COMPONENT CLEANING PROCEDURES IN THE OVERHAUL MANUAL BEFORE YOU USE THEM AGAIN. DO NOT LET THE END FITTING OF THE HOSE TOUCH DIRTY SURFACES. CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE A FIRE OR EXPLOSION. FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS WILL CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(j)
Install the protective caps or plugs to the open lines, fittings or the ports to prevent contamination of the system.
(k)
Install the pressure cap (attached by a chain) to the valve on the outlet port of the shutoff valve assembly.
CAUTION: TIGHTEN THE PRESSURE CAP TO THE SPECIFIED TORQUE.
_______ THE INCORRECT TORQUE CAN CAUSE OXYGEN CYLINDER LEAKS DURING STORAGE.
