WARNING:_______OPEN THE SHUTOFF VALVE ON THE OXYGEN CYLINDER SLOWLY. IF THE GAS FLOWS TOO QUICKLY, HIGH TEMPERATURES CAN OCCUR IN THE SYSTEM. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE.

Open the shutoff valves in the oxygen system slowly. Use your hand (a maximum of approximately 25 inch-pounds, 2.82 newton-meters) to open them to the fully open position.

A. General
(1)
Read and obey the safety precautions and general instructions before you do the maintenance (AMM 35-00-00/201).
(2)
Use these procedures to remove and install an oxygen cylinder in the forward cargo sidewall, or ceiling locations. Do the procedures again for each oxygen cylinder that you replace.
(3)
You can use composite and steel cylinders at the same time in the same cylinder support structure.

(1) Prepare to remove the oxygen cylinder:
(a)
Make sure that the airplane is correctly grounded (AMM 20-41-01/201).
(b)
Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-REMOVE tag:
1) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel a) 7D4 OXYGEN VALVE & IND
(c)
Open the access panel to the oxygen cylinders.
NOTE: The access panels are attached by snaps and velcro tape.

(2) Remove the oxygen cylinder:
CAUTION: DO NOT TIGHTEN THE SHUTOFF VALVE ON THE OXYGEN CYLINDER TO
_______ MORE THAN 25 INCH-POUNDS (2.8 NEWTON-METERS). THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SHUTOFF VALVE.
(a)
Close the shutoff valve on all oxygen cylinders slowly.
(b)
Remove the tubing clamps as necessary.
WARNING: LOOSEN THE COUPLING NUT SLOWLY TO RELEASE THE GAS SLOWLY.
_______ HIGH GAS PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE CONNECTION TO COME APART WITH AN EXPLOSIVE FORCE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE AND EQUIPMENT.
