(d) Remove the coupling nut on the oxygen cylinder from the oxygen
cylinder port.
(e) Disconnect the B-nut on the overboard discharge line.
(f) Disconnect the coupling nut on the high pressure cylinder.
(g) Remove the safety pin from the band strap clamp.
(h) Open the toggle lever to decrease the tension on the spring.
(i) Remove the T-bolt from the catch.
NOTE:____ The clamp halves are now disengaged and will open
freely.
(j) Lightly pull on the coupling assembly until you can remove the
oxygen cylinder.
(k) Remove the oxygen cylinder from the mounting structure.
NOTE:____ The oxygen cylinder weighs 35 to 46 pounds.
WARNING: SEAL THE CONNECTIONS WITH "OXYGEN CLEAN" CAPS TO PREVENT
_______ CONTAMINATION. CLEAN USED CAPS AS SPECIFIED IN THE "OXYGEN CLEAN" COMPONENT CLEANING PROCEDURES IN THE OVERHAUL MANUAL BEFORE YOU USE THEM AGAIN.
WARNING: DO NOT LET THE END FITTING OF THE HOSE TOUCH DIRTY
_______ SURFACES. CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE A FIRE OR EXPLOSION. FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS WILL CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(l)
Install the protective caps and plugs to all open lines, fittings, or ports to prevent contamination of the system.
(m)
Install the pressure cap (it is attached by a chain) to the valve on the outlet port of the shutoff valve.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU TIGHTEN THE PRESSURE CAP TO THE
_______ SPECIFIED TORQUE. IF YOU DO NOT TIGHTEN THE CAP CORRECTLY, LEAKS CAN OCCUR DURING STORAGE.
(n) Tighten the pressure cap to a torque of 350 to 400 pound-inches.

G. Cargo Sidewall-Mounted Oxygen Cylinder Installation

(1) Prepare to install the oxygen cylinder:
(a) Make sure it is not more than three years since the oxygen cylinder had its last hydrostatic test.
NOTE: The last hydrostatic test date will be on a label near
____ the top of the oxygen cylinder.
(b) Remove the safety from the oxygen cylinder pressure cap.
WARNING: LOOSEN THE PRESSURE CAP SLOWLY TO RELEASE THE GAS.
_______ IF YOU OPEN THE VALVE TOO QUICKLY, HIGH GAS PRESSURE CAN CAUSE THE CONNECTION TO COME APART WITH EXPLOSIVE FORCE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONNEL AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE AND EQUIPMENT.
(c)
Slowly remove the cap from the oxygen cylinder and permit any trapped gas to bleed off before the cap is completely removed.
(d)
Do not cut or disconnect the chain after you remove the cap.
(e)
Put the cap back on the snap for storage.
(f)
Remove the protective caps or plugs from the lines, fittings or the ports.
(g)
Make sure the threads on the fitting are clean.

(2) Install the oxygen cylinder:
(a)
Put the bottom end of the oxygen cylinder into position in the lower support structure.
(b)
Put the upper end of the oxygen cylinder on the upper support structure.
NOTE: Gently move the coupling assembly and related tubing
____ until the oxygen cylinder is in the correct position.
