INTEGRATED DRIVE GENERATOR - SERVICING (OIL REPLENISHING)

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks, The first task is to fill the oil in the integrated drive generator (IDG) system. The second task is to examine the IDG system oil level.
B. You fill the IDG through the pressure fill valve. The oil flows into the IDG scavenge filter, through the external oil circuit, and into the IDG case. The air in the circuit is pushed in front of the oil and leaves the system through the overflow drain. The oil level will increase in the IDG until it is above the top of the standpipe and then flows from the overflow drain.
C. The standpipe in the overflow drain sets the correct level for the IDG oil system.
D. When you fill the IDG oil system, use the overflow drain adapter and hose assembly to open the overflow drain port.
E. The IDG is attached to the aft face of the main gearbox at the 7 o'clock position.
F. Get access to the IDG through the IDG oil service access door on the left core cowl panel.
